TV Ratings: Tuesday (1/22/08)
FOX's monster hit "American Idol" helped a rerun of Hugh Laurie-fronted "House" win the 9:00 p.m. timeslot on Tuesday night. But the singing competition continued to slide in the ratings shedding another million pairs of eyeballs.
The show lost 12% of viewers compared to last Tuesday's debut. Last season, "American Idol" premiered to a somewhat heftier 37.44 million viewers, before dipping to 33.65 million in its third airing on a comparable night one year ago.
NBC's "Biggest Loser" is heavily affected by its reality competition on FOX. The show lures fewer than 7 million viewers in the first half-hour of its 2-hour broadcast, but manages to exceed 11 million in the final half-hour.
