Justin Hartley Returns to "Smallville"
Next Thursday, "Smallville" is coming back to The CW with new episodes including the return of Justin Hartley's Green Arrow, James Masters' Brainiac and the introduction of a new superheroine - The Black Canary.
According to current listings, The CW will air the next 3 all-new episodes of the young Superman drama on January 31 and February 7 and 14. Since there is a total of 6 episodes left, 3 more all-new episodes will be coming in March.
Even if the writers' strike is not resolved shortly and the show doesn't go back into production this season "Smallville" will, along with NBC's "Friday Night Lights," have one of the longest seasons this year (15 episodes).
Former "Passions" star Justin Hartley, who played the Green Arrow in the fall of 2006, will make a special guest appearance in the February 7 episode titled "Siren" (also featuring Alaina Huffman as The Black Canary).
In the episode, Chloe will be secretly working for Oliver (Green Arrow). As she intercept one of Lex's project files, she is attacked by the Black Canary, a mystery woman with a subsonic cry.
Dinah Lance, Black Canary's alter ego, is a conservative talk show host who is working at the Daily Planet and clashes with Lois.
Lex convinces the Black Canary that the Green Arrow and his team are terrorists so she launches an attack on the Green Arrow and Clark.
I will post more stills and spoilers in the near future. For the time being, here are several images from Hartley's 2006 photo shoot for his original guest stint on "Smallville."
