"Dirty Sexy" News: Full Season Renewal?
Hollywood press speculates that "Dirty Sexy Money" may be, along with "Women's Murder Club" and "Samantha Who," the next ABC series to get a full season pick-up. Meanwhile, veteran made-for-TV actor Peter Strauss joins the show as Nick's (Peter Krause) father Dutch George.
According to Variety, the aforementioned shows are "likely to get a full season pick-up." Meanwhile, Broadcasting and Cable reports that "odds are that 'Dirty Sexy Money', will get the call for additional episodes."
ABC has thus far picked up two series from its all-new Wednesday night line-up: "Pushing Daisies" and "Private Practice" which have both been winning their respective timeslots in the 18-49 demo and are among this fall's top-5 freshman shows overall.
I believe the fate of "Dirty Sexy Money" may be dependant on the ratings of tonight's episode. Season thus far the show has averaged over 9 million viewers and has been winning its timeslot among adults 18-34 and women 18-34.
Meanwhile, TV Guide is reporting that Peter Strauss, whom I will always remember for the amazing 1985 mini-series "Tender is the Night," a critically-acclaimed adaptation of the Fitzgerald novel, has joined "Dirty Sexy Money" as Dutch George.
Since the character was killed off in the pilot, Strauss will only appear in flashbacks pertaining to the show's central mystery - who killed the Darling family attorney Dutch George and why?
The character who was called Devlin in the original pilot, was played by "One Life to Live" star Trevor St. John in an earlier flashback. The new flashbacks set in more recent times will shed more light on the mystery and his affair with Jill Clayburgh's character Letitia Darling.
A new episode of "Dirty Sexy Money" titled "The Bridge" airs tonight at 10/9c on ABC.

I think DSM will stick around for a full season. Not sure if they will renew it all now though. I think Samantha Who and WMC will get full season orders. If that happens, ABC will have made me very happy for once.
And it was great to see TSJ on DSM that one time. I love him on OLTL and I think that if he were a main character, DSM would be even better. But, that would mean that I couldn't see my Todd Manning during OLTL and I just couldn't take that.
I think the renewal of "Samantha Who" is a no-brainer at this point.
ABC just ordered 6 more scripts and they are promoting it as TV's #1 comedy.
It gets higher ratings than the former #1 "Two and a Half Men."
