High School Musical Star Zac Efron Joins 17
Forget about the cinema this Friday night - the hottest movie premiere is on small screen tonight. We're just moments away from East Coast premiere of "High School Musical 2" on the Disney Channel, so here to wet your appetite is a little snippet about the film star Zac Efron.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the in-demand teen heartthrob who is expected to appear in "High School Musical 3" as well as the new version of the classic Kevin Bacon movie "Footloose" has signed on to star in the upcoming movie "Seventeen."
New Line's love story is a "Big"-like dramedy in which a 36-year-old man, in need of a major life do-over, wakes up in the body of a studly high school senior (Efron). "Big" was of course a classic 1980s comedy starring Tom Hanks. Jennifer Garner starred in a comedy with an opposite shtick "19 Going On 30."
The studio believes the movie will appeal both to Efron's audience as well as the adults. Zac has been in talks with the studio to star in the film since February. "Seventeen" will be released in 2009.
Oh, boy! Only 5 minutes left till the premiere of "High School Musical 2"... "We're all in this together..."
