X-Files Reopened

David Duchovny indicated Saturday during the Television Critics Assn. press tour at the Beverly Hilton that the blockbuster 1993-2002 FOX mystery series "The X-Files" that he and Gillian Anderson starred on may finally be getting a sequel to its 1998 theatrical movie.

Creator Chris Carter is behind the script that Duchovny is supposed to see this week before making the final deal. Carter is also set to direct the pic and, according to Duchovny, Anderson is also on board to reprise her role as Agent Scully.

The movie was delayed due to a now-settled lawsuit Carter filed against FOX in 2005. Duchovny was promoting his new Showtime comedy series "Californication" which premieres on the cable network on August 13.
