"Dance" Cuts: Shauna Noland, Cedric Gardner

Last night on a "Hairspray" edition of FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance" guest judge Adam Shankman helped make a decision to send Shauna Noland and Cedric Gardner home.

Anya & Danny, Shauna & Cedric and Jaimie & Hok were the bottom three couples. After the solos and Hilary Duff's performance, the judges decided to cut Shauna for lack of growth. They then said this was only the beginning of Cedric's journey in dancing.



Despite that tender dismissal, I am becoming increasingly annoyed with the judges. Not only is their criticism a tad too often off mark (Dan Karaty, I am speaking to you), but they seem to have an agenda of who they want to see stay in the competition regardless of how well they did on Wednesday night and they come up with a variety of inconsistent reasons to justify their eliminations.

Nevertheless, the contestants are cute, their performances are joy to watch, and in these uneventful summer months, apart from ABC's highly-addictive but soon-to-conclude "Traveler" I really can't find greater entertainment on broadcast TV.
