My Name Is Justin Van De Kamp...
...and I had an unusual day last Sunday. Not! So why don't I leave the voiceover duties to Mary-Alice and focus on saying one big 'thank you' to all you gossip-hungry surfers out there for stopping by and checking "Televisionista" out.
Initially, when I began the blog way back in September 2006, only 10 people would come to visit each day, so it's really great to see that figure increase hundreds of times. With the traffic tripling in recent weeks, there have now been almost a million pageviews.
Surprisingly or not, over half of you are from the United States, mostly from Los Angeles, New York and Chicago, although there seem to be quite a few readers in Houston, Washington and Atlanta.
Canada, the UK and Australia are obviously the leading foreign markets for the blog, although I am happy to see even more visitors from non-English speaking territories, mainly France, Germany and Spain. Merci, danke, gracias, whoever and wherever you are. :)
I am happy to say I did resolve my technical issues, bid the final farewell to my trustworthy T41, and took a little break in the process. I am however back and ready for some fresh and juicy Hollywood gossip.
You may have noticed a little change in the focus of the blog over the past couple of weeks. As the name indicates, "Televisionista" did start out as an outlet for TV news and updates, but I have always wanted to cover a lot more, so I am using this opportunity while all our favorite shows are taking a summer hiatus, to also blog about movie stars, fashion icons and hot music.
Top shows like "Grey's Anatomy," "LOST" and "Desperate Housewives" will always remain the priority especially once the new TV season begins. And I hope a few other new shows generate quite a bit of buzz and viewer interest.
As for some recent criticism concerning the too revealing spoilers or the male candy segment, I am really not sure how else to address that other than to underline that a blog is an online personal journal of an independent voice, a collection of thoughts and images an individual wishes to publish, NOT a conventional website.
This is the very reason blogs have become so popular. They often post the opinions, the language or the information you won't find everywhere. You may like it or you may not like it, but you are certainly welcome to enjoy it.
For those of you who wanted to finally see the man behind the blog, there is a little picture of me, but no, I am not vein enough to do a "Daily Eye Candy" out of it, as suggested, but hey, thanks for the idea. You're a doll, Roland. :)
In addition to the aforementioned gentleman, many thanks to Kong Chang, JJ, Mark, Stefan, Cibele, Danny, B Cole, Jannho, Metal AZN Warrior, Cristi, Debi, Erin, Gonzalo, Dan, Gio, Ben, Jen Newton and many more of you anonymous or not so anonymous visitors for taking your time and commenting on many of the stories. Did I forget anyone? Oh, you'll just have to kill me.
I hope you'll all continue to enjoy the blog throughout the summer whenever you feel like grabbing some hot scoop or juicy gossip. Thanks again for stopping by and have a really hot one! :)
