Boone Was Not Gay
The producers of ABC's hit drama "LOST" have set the record straight. Literally. Ian Sommerhalder's character Boone who appeared in a recent flashback story of Nikki and Paulo was not gay as some of us had suspected. Bummer.
The confusion over the character's sexuality began when a part of the Internet community (yours truly included) misinterpreted Boone's half-sister Shannon's line in the said flashback: "If you quit flirting with random guys maybe we could actually get on the plane."
The line could have of course been intended as a joke, after all Shannon had already referred to Locke, whom Boone befriended in season one prior to his tragic death, as his boyfriend. Perish the thought.
The reason people speculated about the significance of Shannon's seemingly inconspicuous statement was that the producers announced in an official podcast that streamed prior to the broadcast of the "Expose" episode that they would be revealing a gay character.
What does that mean? Is someone else who appeared in the episode gay? Or have the producers backpedaled on the original idea? One thing is for sure, neither Paulo nor Boone are gay, and both Nikki and Paulo are dead and won't be coming back. Amen.

I just love how the creators of Lost are like...we're going to make you a regular and then we're going to kill you by season's end.
Fun fun fun.
