Taye Diggs Cast In "Grey's Anatomy" Spin-Off
Taye Diggs will star opposite Kate Walsh in ABC's potential spin-off from hit medical drama "Grey's Anatomy". ABC Studio has also extended its original deal with Diggs' production company for two more years.
Taye Diggs who appeared in ABC's failed drama "Day Break" has had a long-standing relationship with the studio, previously appearing in their UPN series "Kevin Hill". Diggs was also the producer in both ABC Studio projects.
Meanwhile, more information is emerging about the pilot which will test waters for a potential spin-off series.
The pilot will center on neonatal surgeon Addison Shepherd, who has enjoyed a strong following from fans since she was introduced at the end of the hot surgical drama's first season.
It is believed that the back-door pilot episode will feature Shepherd on the verge of leaving Seattle Grace, a scenario that will be triggered if ABC goes with the spinoff for next season.
There were no details on the character Diggs will play.
Grey's showrunner Shonda Rhimes is currently writing the 2-hour episode, while her other project about female journalists (also for ABC and ABC studio) has been pushed to a summer production start.

ReplyDeleteHey! We finally get a McChocolatey. I think Taye Diggs can do a good job, he was really good on Kevin Hill (I miss that friggin' show) and the episode I did see(lol) of Daybreak was ok. He looks better than Isaiah Washington.LOL
ReplyDeleteEwww?
ReplyDeleteFunny thing was with the whole hubbub if Isaiah Washington was going to keep his job or not, I was thinking Taye Diggs would make a great replacement over Isaiah...and look, he got lead in the spin-off. :)
