Spielberg Reality Contest & "So You Think You Can Dance" Booked For FOX Summer


FOX has announced premiere dates for its summer programming including a brand new film-biz reality series from Steven Spielberg and a new season of hit competition "So You Think You Can Dance?".


As the blockbuster season opens at megaplexes, FOX will unveil a new weekly elimination-style contest entitled "On The Lot" from reality guru Mark Burnett, legendary film director Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks Television.

The program will be looking for the most inspiring filmmaker who will receive a $1 million development deal with the studio.

The series will premiere on Wednesday, May 16 before moving to Monday-Tuesday rotation the following week.

16 filmmakers will be presented on May 28 along with their short films and 4 of them will be going home the day after in the "box office results show".

Elsewhere, FOX will bring back its highly successful competition "So You Think You Can Dance" which opens a third season on May 24 and then settles into a Wednesday-Thursday rotation the week after.

Casting for the third season of "Dance" begins on March 1 in New York, followed by Chicago on March 8, Los Angeles on March 22 and Atlanta on April 5. Check FOX's official "Dance" website for more details.

Also on FOX this summer, sitcom "The Loop" begins a new season on June 10 at 9:30pm, while "Hell's Kitchen" cooks up a delicious season premiere on June 25 in its regular Monday at 8pm slot.

  1. I so can't wait until So You Think You Can Dance starts up again this summer. I have watched the previous 2 seasons and I just find it fun and more exciting to watch than Dancing With the Stars.
