TV Ratings: NBC's "Heroes" Edges Out FOX's "24"
The first head-to-head battle for 9pm supremacy on Monday night ended with success for NBC's freshman drama "Heroes" both in total viewers as well as in the crucial 18-49 category.
"Heroes" beat out FOX's clock-ticking thriller by a low margin - 14,84 vs. 14,44 million viewers. "Heroes" lead was much more apparent in the 18-49 demo (6.5/15 vs. 5.4/12).
Neither show however was the most watched in the timeslot - that honor went to CBS's sitcom "Two and a Half Men" which scored 16,06 million viewers.
Elsewhere, "Prison Break" was back for the second half of its current season with a very healthy 9,9 million viewers. No wonder FOX has already initiated talks about a third season.
Earlier in the evening, NBC's "Deal Or No Deal" won the 8pm hour with as many as 17,56 viewers. Expect the suitcase show to return next season.
The most watched program of the evening was once again CBS's 10pm drama "CSI: Miami" with 18,67 million.
Earlier in the evening, its sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" scored 9,55 million viewers for an all-new episode at 8pm.
Finally, the absence of "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" had neither positive nor negative impact on the ratings, the drama posted its season average 7,41 million viewers.
