Marcia Cross Put On Bed Rest; "Desperate Housewives" Production Moves To Her Home
The producers of "Desperate Housewives" have recently been forced to find various, often hilarious ways to hide the pregnancy of their star Marcia Cross on the show. Now that the actress was ordered to immediate bed rest, they may be doing something that hadn't been done before.
TV Guide has reported earlier today the actress who portrays the perfectionist housewife Bree Hodge on the show (and is expecting twins in April), was put on bed rest for the remainder of her pregnancy.
For this reason, the producers were forced to quickly wrap up Bree's storyline and move the production of the series to her house at the end of this week, for two days only.
At the moment, while Cross is resting upstairs, the Desperate Housewives team is working downstairs painting the walls and changing the appearance of the house she moved into only several months ago to match the look of the Van De Kamp residence.
Cross' alter ego Bree is not pregnant on the show and her storyline was originally supposed to end in the first March episode. Therefore, Cross' character Bree may temporarily leave the show even earlier than originally planned.
The network will air two all-new episodes in February on the 11th and the 18th; the first and the last Sunday "Desperate Housewievs" will be a rerun/pre-empted due to Super Bowl on CBS/Academy Awards on ABC, respectively.
