Marcia Cross' Twins Take First Steps Protected From UV Rays

Actress Marcia Cross was spotted in Douglas Park in Santa Monica on Monday helping her twins take their first steps on a day off from filming post-strike episodes of ABC's megahit "Desperate Housewives."

The trio were all clad in matching hats to keep their skin out of the sun. Marcia, who is known for her passion for hats and fear of sun, is taking all precautions to keep her daughters away from dangerous UV rays.

Marcia's daughters Eden and Savannah recently celebrated their first birthday. Although Marcia was originally due in April 2007, her twins were born on February 20, 2007 at a Los Angeles hospital.

Marcia Cross Pictures: Peace is Courageous

"Desperate Housewife" Marcia Cross, whose Wisteria Lane character Bree recently tried to pimp her gay son Andrew out for a new roof, is using the writers' strike imposed break in production of her hit ABC series to indulge in shopping.

The actress was spotted wearing a "Peace Is Courageous" top while shopping on Robertson Boulevard on Saturday. The break has allowed Cross to spend more time with her husband, financial adviser Tom Mahoney.

Universal Studios set of "Desperate Housewives" is allegedly still in ruins waiting for production to continue. Cross recently said she hated the post-tornado shoot and says watching her TV home destroyed was awful.

Marcia Cross Pictures + WIll Bree Go To Work?

"If paparazzi get too close, I tell them I will kill them," says Marcia Cross, Wisteria Lane's Bree Van De Kamp, in an interview with USA Today, also revealing an upcoming "Desperate Housewives" storyline she herself suggested to series creator Marc Cherry.

According to the article, when the strike ends and the cast and crew gets back to work, Marcia's alter ego Bree will be entering workforce. Cross says, the idea is to show Bree, the control-freak, in situations where she is completely out of control and what that does to her.


If that is the case, let us hope the storylines play out better than Lynette's sitcom-like stint at the ad agency back in season 2 when the dramedy reached an all-tome creative low with silly antics like Lynette eating raw bacon and Tom putting his head into a toilet.

Writers' strike that halted production aside, this season of "Desperate Housewives" has held strong in the ratings and got a lot of positive buzz from the critics.

"Desperate Housewives" Star Marcia Cross Gives Birth To Twin Girls!

FEBRUARY 21, 2007: Congratulations to "Desperate Housewives" star Marcia Cross who gave birth to fraternal twin daughters on Tuesday, her rep confirmed to People Magazine.

The girls, Eden and Savannah, who were born at a Los Angeles hospital, are the first children for the Desperate Housewives actress, 44, and her stockbroker husband Tom Mahoney, 49, who married in June 2006.

"Mother and babies are all doing well," says Cross's rep, Heidi Slan.

The rep told the Associated Press that the bed rest that the actress was put on in early January was merely a "precautionary measure," and Cross herself said in December that she'd been having a problem-free pregnancy.

Cross also added at the time that having babies later in life feels like miracle, one she did not think would happen.

It's that time of the year again and the proud mother of twins and TV's most beloved anal retentive housewife Marcia Cross went shopping for Christmas gifts on the weekend in Brentwood.

The actress and the rest of the cast have a lot of free time before the holidays this year because the writers' strike in Hollywood shut down the production of their show earlier this month.

10 episodes of the show have been filmed, the last of which is supposed to air in January. If the strike is resolved shortly, the cast is expected to go back to work early next year.

4-month old twin daughters of stock broker Tom Mahoney, 50, and "Desperate Housewives" star Marcia Cross, 45, were baptized on Father's Day Sunday at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Santa Barbara, California.

"Desperate" Spoilers: Bree Gets a Rival

The producers of ABC's #1 global hit "Desperate Housewives" are casting a new Wisteria Lane housewife named Katherine who will give Bree Van De Kamp (played by Marcia Cross who was photographed this weekend getting Starbucks while shopping in Brentwood) a run for her money when the 4th season begins in late September.

According to the official description of the character used in auditions, Katherine shares a lot of similarities with Bree. For example, both women haven't served store-bought croutons in years!



Bree gets mad when Katherine claims one of Bree's recipe is from a book. And she gets furious when Katherine claims that Bree and Danielle don't have a good mother/daughter bond and when she acts condescendant telling that Bree must be so proud of her employee-of-the-month-at-a-pizzeria son.



In the character's opening scene, Bree tries to coax the woman into sharing the special ingredient in her pie. Bree gets upset when the woman refuses to share the recipe, while Katherine attributes Bree's mood shifts to her "pregnancy."



The dramedy begins shooting the fourth season on Monday, July 9 and by that time these details may change as the season premiere episode is still being written. Spoiler sleuths expect Nicolette Sheridan's Edie to survive her suicide attempt and Mike Delfino's brother Terry to arrive in Fairview.

Marcia Cross Signs "Environment California" Petition in Santa Monica

"Desperate Housewives" beauty Marcia Cross was snapped on the streets of Santa Monica on Thursday signing a petition to save the environment in California, namely an initiative to fully exploit wind and solar power.

The actress who wears her trademark hats to protect skin from the damaging sun rays is the spokesperson for the 2007 Skin Cancer Takes Friends campaign, an initiative sponsored by Olay and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.

"Environment California" on the other hand is a statewide, citizen-based environmental advocacy organization whose goal is to overcome the opposition of powerful special interests and win results for California's environment.

Marcia Cross: Back In Shape

What are these two gossiping about? They sure seem caught in the act. "Desperate Housewives" stars Eva Longoria and Marcia Cross came out last night for the BlackBerry Curve from AT&T Launch Party.


Cross told People Magazine she has not made a decision on whether or not to travel with her twins to Paris for the July 7 wedding of co-star Longoria and NBA star Tony Parker. The actress and her husband are planning a little trial trip to see how it goes.



Marcia has also revealed to the magazine she is very happy her efforts to lose baby fat have paid off as she is almost back to her original weight. She has been working out at home with exercise DVDs and at L.A. gym Burn 60.
