Elizabeth Reaser Joins ABC's "Grey's Anatomy"
Docs at Seattle Grace are getting a shrink. It was about time.
TV Guide reports actress Elizabeth Reaser was cast as a psychiatrist on ABC's hit drama.
The actress who started her career in daytime sudsfest "Guiding Light", was recently seen as Tom Everett Scott's lady on TNT's Saved.
Reaser is supposed to start off as a recurring character (as did Eric Dane's Marc Sloan and Sara Ramirez' Callie Torres) with an option to become a series regular.
Given how emotionally unstable the staff at Seattle Grace are, chances are Reaser will have her hands full.

I really don't want Elizabeth Reaser to join the cast of Grey's Anatomy for three reasons 1) A phyciatrist isn't even a real doctor. I mean, they're not like an MD thet're something else. And Grey's Anatomy is aboth saving lives. I don't see how she could save a life. 2) She might become a love interest of one of the characters. Bad, bad, bad. This can mess up the whole show. And 3) Someeone is gonna die so that she can join. Enough said. Elizabeth Reaser, we don't want you on the show!!!
To anonymous 12:23pm:
1) A "phyciatrist" (PSYCHIATRIST) IS a "real doctor" with an MD. It is actually a medical specialty. Even Wikipedia can tell you that:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychiatrist
Psychiatrists deal with MANY life-threatening mental illnesses and often prescribe medications, therapy, etc. that do save lives. What you said was unnecessarily insulting to psychiatrists whom you obviously do not know much about.
2) Oh, and I suppose Sloan and Callie "messed up" the show? Reaser is starting out as a recurring not a permanent character. If her chemistry with the other characters just isn't there, she can always fade into the background and show up every so often like Hahn.
3) Why would someone have to die so that she can join the show? She is of a different speciality all together! It's not as if she's another brain surgeon or something of that sort...
I love Grey's Anatomy as it is but I look forward to seeing how Reaser will contribute to the show. Keep an open mind! It might just work out for the better :)
Actually, guys - according to an update on the story - Reaser will NOT play a psychiatrist, but rather a patient who will affect everyone at Seattle Grace. She will have a multi-episode arc, but she will not be a series regular. More on that in the latest Grey's spoiler update.
