Desperate Housewives #313: "Come Play Wiz Me": Let's Misbehave...
Gloria helps Alma rape Orson; Zach helps Mike get out of prison; Kayla "helps" Lynette quit advertising and Jane helps Susan be with Ian.
I can not believe there are only two episodes left before Marcia Cross leaves on a well deserved maternity leave. Would last night's episode be equally awesome had it not been for Mrs. Orson Hodge and her dark, yet funny storyline? I seriously doubt that.
We learned the teeth Bree found in Alma's house did indeed belong to Monique and Orson knows about that much more than he is willing to tell Bree.
His deliciously evil mother Gloria returns to finish what she has been trying to do since she appeared - help Alma get back with Orson.
The two women trick and drug Orson into complete submission. How creepy, over-the-top, yet brilliant was the scene with Gloria speaking about her grandchild while Alma was undressing into her red lingerie?
And then when Mama Hodge gave them the much needed privacy, I thought I would really lose it when I saw Alma mouthing the words of her choice of sex music - Cole Porter's classic "Let's Misbehave".
I was very happy the writers stopped dumbing Bree down and she was able to instantly put two and two together and realize Alma had drugged and raped her husband.
Then came the most satisfying moment of the past three episodes - Bree socking one right into Alma's fake double-faced head. I bet my neighbors could hear me cheering.
"You raped my husband!!"
"We made love. And when our baby's born he's gonna come back to me."
"Baby?!!!"
"It's true. I could be expecting right now."
"Were you expecting this?"
BAM!
Now that's why I love "Desperate Housewives"!
Elsewhere, it turns out Zach has returned at a very convenient time (only in the Wisteria Lane universe) to help his biological father get out of prison and do yet another ABC product placement for Nissan.
He is still, however, pining over Gaby and hating Paul's guts.
I understand the storyline had to be accelerated due to Marcia's pregnancy - Mike was originally supposed to remain another episode or two in prison. For this reason, a previously announced flashback with Mary-Alice headed for the cutting room floor.
The darling Mrs. McCluskey tried to reason with that little demon-spawn Kayla, but it seems the naughty brat will continue to keep her mother Nora's spirit alive.
Lynette was caught in a lie, and although Ed could not allow himself the luxury of losing her, she made a decision to stand by her husband and help him build their new and fragile business. That pizza did look great, by the way.
Finally, Jane drifted away taking Susan and Ian to the point where there are no more excuses. Either it will work out between the two of them or it will not.
And judging by the parting shot with a free Mike in the background, I doubt there is future for that snoozefest of a relationship.
We will have to wait three weeks for a new episode. Next week ABC repeats episode #305 "Nice She Ain't" and the week after the show is pre-empted. New episode "I Remember That" airs February 11 and we'll soon have a preview at Televisionista.Net
