Police: Garrison DUI
The Beverly Hills police have issued an official statement saying "Prison Break" actor Lane Garrison 'displayed symptoms of alcohol intoxication' and was indeed driving the SUV that struck a tree killing a teenage boy who was one of the passengers.
According to the report, the accident occurred around 11:50pm on Saturday. When the police arrived at 11:53 Garrison and another front seat passenger had already been removed from the wreckage of Garrison's vehicle by the passing citizens, but the remaining two rear passengers had to be extricated by the Beverly Hills Fire Department personnel.
The vehicle which traveled northbound on Beverwil Drive struck the center median on Olympic Boulevard before Garrison, 26, lost control of the vehicle ultimately striking a tree in the area of 350 S. Beverly Drive.
There were no other vehicles involved in the impact.
The three seriously injured juveniles in the vehicle were transported to the Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where the 17-year old male passenger succumbed to his injuries. The police have not released his name as yet.
Of the remaining two female 15-year old passengers one has already been released, the other remains hospitalized in serious condition.
In addition to observing symptoms of alcohol intoxication on the part of Lane Garrison, the police have also removed alcohol containers from the SUV.
The actor who is known for his troubled past, had lived as a teenager with Jessica Simpson's father, minister Joe Simpson, whom he had praised for helping him find new direction in life after he left his home in Texas.
