GO PANTHERS!

On Tuesday October 3, NBC will premiere a truly remarkable character-driven family-friendly series "Friday Night Lights", a small screen adaptation of the 2004 movie starring Kyle Chandler as a football couch who moves to a small town in Texas that depends on him to take their college team to victory as the game symbolizes their very existence.

It is difficult to say whether this beautifully filmed and poignant show with engrossing acting performances will break "the sports TV series curse" and win the ratings game. Nevertheless, NBC deserves praise for bringing this outstanding hour of scripted drama to American television.

"Friday Night Lights" premieres Tuesday night at 8/7c on NBC.
