Miley Cyrus Vanity Fair Pictures Scandal

How utterly absurd are conservatives in America? Faux News' top clown Bill O'Reilly, who called Vanity Fair readers a bunch of old liberals, said on his ludicrous talker last night the entire Cyrus family should go on Oprah and apologize for Hanna Montana star's Vanity Fair photoshoot that sent his fellow wingnuts into frenzy.

Obviously I understand why a desperate Disney ordered Miley Cyrus to issue her lame public apology, given the fact that their billion dollar Hannah Montana brand caters to a very conservative market.

I also understand why Disney made their ridiculous statement that "a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines" given the fact that Miley's parents were present on the set, saw the digitally generated images on computer screens and agreed they were very natural and beautiful pictures of Miley.

I will however never understand how such artistically crafted images of a beautiful 15-year old from the renowned celebrity photographer Annie Leibowitz may be deemed inappropriate. This meaningless scandal merits sheer ridicule.

Wow. From the way people are talking about it you would think that it was porn.

I don't believe a word of it.

In my opinion it is much more likely that Disney decided that Cirus could expand her marketing base from pre-teen bubble gum and cereal to lip gloss and cell phones by sexing it up a bit. She, or her father, were probably unwilling to flash some skin so they settled on declaring an otherwise tame photo to be "scandalous". Without so much as flashing a nipple, the controversy itself takes a tasteful photo in a top fashion magazine and sexualizes it before it is ever seen.

Why are we so gullible?

Personally, I don't care what anyone does one way or another, because we each have our own lives and it's up to us how to live it. No corporation, talk show or political party has the right to tell us our decisions are right or wrong.

And as far as I am concerned, I think the picture is artistically beautiful. Looking at that picture, I see beauty, not porn. If you do look at that picture and your first thought is how scandalous or sexy it is, then maybe there's something wrong with the way YOU think.

To me, it's scandalous because she's 15. And I'm not conservative at all. But I think there is age for everything. They're making this girl growing too fast.

In my opinion I don't think it was all Miley's fault.I mean, she made that desision ot let them take that picture and she shouldn't have done it.But Vanity Fair are the ones that pressured her to do it.
As for her parents, you would think they would have tried to talk her out of it but, since there was nobody,as for an adult,to talk her out of doing so,she decided to have the pictures taken.as for the consequences she faced,as for being replaced,i don't think she should have done it.She set a bad example for all her fans and for the little kids that want to be like her someday and if it was in
someone elses power, someone probably would have stoped her but noone had the power to do so.Of course if it was up to me I wouldn't have stoped her, just tried to talk her out of it.

Mily Cyrus is like the biggest whore in the universe. think about it....15 and not a virgin with her family's
permission. not that i am against it or anything, but it's like all the people that are around her are only there for her money and fame.

but watch when she grows up and no one will care about her!

This upsets me! I have every hannah montana and miley cyrus song ever written. This whole thing is a joke! What posses a 15 year old girl to take proffesional photo's of herself half naked. It must be some insane desire to get caught and create a scandal like this. I know heaps of kids who love hannah montana and even wear hannah montana undies. But then again I used to be Lindsay Lohan's biggest fan. You'd think celebrity's would learn a lesson. Kids all around the world look up to her.

Vanity Fair should not have published pictures of a 15 year old girl naked irregardless of who the girl was.

For those of you who say I have a "sick" mind for thinking the picture implies sexual images then WAKE up and GROW up! We live in a sick world.

I'm involved in the foster care program and I see lots of hurt children because people like you want to be blind and say things are "artistic" when it's actually child exploitation.

I think its terrible that someone's parents would be willing to agree to photos of their 15 year old daughter being taken like that.

Oh my gosh, it's so shocking that that someone would show off something like their back. I'm sure she's never worn a bikini to the beach before that shows off more of all of her, what a scandal that would cause! Indeed she's a hussy.

people are over reacting...this photo isnt bad at all, she wasnt showing anything except for her back and the make-up and hair artists are the ones who made it so she looked like she just had sex. This photo isnt even half as bd as most tennagers photos are, the only reason people are over reacting is because she is a celeberty, that isnt fair. This photo isnt porn if she only shows alittle back!

There is a big difference between a scandalous photograph, and a beautiful photography. Mileys was clearly beautiful. People are blowing it way out of proprtion because they have no other 'scandalous' news to talk about. (Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Lidsney...you know). Sure some people are mad about a bare back. If you do anything wrong and your a big star of course there are going to be people that are gonna get mad about it. Lighten up!

I have a 6 year old daughter who totally loves Miley Cyrus and wants to be just like her. I have to say I think this is awful for kids to see...ok think about this..all little girls lately want to be just like Hannah MOntana..OK well, they are going to want to dress and do just like she does. I think it is ashame for all these young celebs to do this...BUT I THINK ITS HER PARENTS FAULT FOR ALLOWING IT (cant blame a teen for wanting the attention)

i feel when you choose to play that role model for younger children, like disney channel. you have to be focused on child activity posing as a teenage girl thats pretty and people look up to her, then turning around a being half naked thats not good well i feel like ts not omly her fault if her parents wer on set propabl cause would tell them it wasnt reaslly kiddy like.. nor child posessed!!
