Summer Holidays McSteamy Style

JULY 4, 2007: "Grey's Anatomy" star Eric Dane and his wife actress Rebecca Gayheart ("Ugly Betty") enjoyed steamy summer holiday moments on a boat in Porto Cervo, Italy this past weekend.

The couple will soon be returning to the US as Eric is expected to report to the Grey's Anatomy set next week when filming of the medical drama resumes.

Eric Dane & Rebecca Gayheart Welcome Stars @ Chrysalis Butterfly Ball

JUNE 3, 2007: "Grey's Anatomy" co-star Kate Walsh and her fiancee Alex Young, "Desperate Housewife" Marcia Cross and Hollywood's naughty boy Charlie Sheen were just some of the celebrities attending yesterday's Chrysalis Butterfly Ball charity event co-chaired by actress Rebecca Gayheart.

You may have read a post last month about the LA-based nonprofit organization "Chrysalis" which is dedicated to helping economically disadvantaged and homeless individuals become self-sufficient through employment opportunities.





Eric Dane who plays Dr. Mark "McSteamy" Sloan on the award-winning series and his wife Rebecca Gayheart ("90210," "Vanished," "Ugly Betty") have been involved with this charity for years.




This year's 6th Annual event honored producer Darren Star and Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson (among others) and was held at a private estate. The event is expected to have raised over $1 million.



The event began at 6 p.m. with a VIP cocktail reception followed by the official program at 7 p.m. Tickets were sold for $1000 and the ball was sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, Grey Goose Vodka and Flaunt Magazine.

Gayheart, who has been organizing the event for months, and her husband will now leave on a month-long vacation round-the-world before Dane returns to the set of "Grey's Anatomy" in July when shooting of the 4th season begins.

Will Addison Ever Come Back to McDreamy and McSteamy?

"Private Practice" premieres tonight at 9/8c on ABC as both fans and TV execs await to see if the eagerly-awaited yet much-criticized "Grey's Anatomy" spin-off turns into a hit or a dud. Judging by the initial reviews, it doesn't look too good for Addison The Revamped Ditzy Sitcom Babe.

The Denver Post has called the show "a ridiculous soap with idiotic, annoyingly impossible characters in outlandishly implausible crises."

The Baltimore Sun says the show is "not very appealing," Addison has "lost her edge" and Shonda Rhimes "never strikes a balance [on PP] between wit and medical woe."

Variety says the show "qualifies as a disappointment" while "the cluelessness of the grown-up doctors here feels more forced and irritating [than on Grey's Anatomy]."

Hollywood Reporter says "the show doesn't really seem to know yet what it wants to be when it grows up -- IF it grows up."

And TV Guide says the show "is turning Addison into a blithering Ally McBeal clone" while its telegenic ensemble is not given "grown-up material to play."

Not too much love for "Private Practice" out there. Then again its parent series "Grey's Anatomy" itself took an almost entire 9-episode first season to turn into the kind of phenomenon we all know and love.

In the meantime, McDreamy and McSteamy are said to bury the hatchet and develop a new camaraderie on "Grey's Anatomy." If Addison however "decides" to return to Seattle Grace, I'm sure the battle over HRH The Queen of Ice will start all over again.

Eric Dane & Rebecca Gayheart @ Closing of the Monte Carlo TV Festival

The 2007 Monte Carlo TV Festival ended with some of the brightest international stars of the tube joining His Royal Highness Prince Albert of Monaco ending the 5-day event. Our dynamic duo, steamy fella Eric Dane and his loving wife of almost 3 years Rebecca Gayheart were among them.


Although across the globe "Grey's Anatomy" has not reached the kind of blockbuster status that it enjoys in the United States, the medical drama is picking up steam in a number of foreign markets. "CSI," "Desperate Housewives" and the daytime soap "The Bold and the Beautiful" however remain American top shows around the world.


Dane and Gayheart recently organized a star-studded charity ball in Hollywood after which they began their month-long trek around the world including a stop in Italy where they met fellow ABC star Teri Hatcher and her boyfriend Stephen Key at the wedding of "Desperate" guest star Dougray Scott.

ABC Stars Teri Hatcher & Eric Dane @ Dougray Scott's Wedding in Italy

ABC stars Teri Hatcher ("Desperate Housewives") and Eric Dane ("Grey's Anatomy") attended the wedding of actor Dougray Scott to actress Claire Forlani in Italy on Friday.


Both Hatcher and Dane are in Europe with their significant others during the hiatus in production of their respective ABC series.



Hatcher who came to the wedding with her boyfriends director Stephen Kay was in London where she was named Writer of the Year by Glamour Magazine.

Eric Dane and wife Rebecca Gayheart hosted a Chrysalis charity ball in Los Angeles last Saturday and are now trekking around the world.



The groom, Scottish actor Dougray Scott, played Teri Hatcher's love interest this past season on ABC's "Desperate Housewives."

Dreamy & Steamy Shine at Drenched Indy 500

"McSteamy" to Start Fresh in "Grey's" Season 4

"Grey's Anatomy" boss Shonda Rhimes previewed season 4 of the blockbuster medical drama in her blog saying Dr. Mark McSteamy Sloan (largely MIA from the finale) "starts fresh, without [spin-off-bound] Addison. He'll get to stand on his own."

Earlier this week, the actor appeared on "Live with Regis and Kelly" to preview the season finale of his hit series and talk about his marriage to actress Rebecca Gayheart whom he married in a quickie ceremony in Las Vegas in 2004.

As USA Today reports, Gayheart has been involved with Chrysalis, a charity that helps the homeless get jobs, for over 6 years. In her first year as a volunteer, she set up the Butterfly Ball fundraiser raising $4.5 million over five years.


Gayheart prompted famous friends to make donations and brought such celebrities as Salma Hayek and Jackie Chan down for tours of Skid Row. The Danes themselves visited the charity center earlier this week as they plan the next event.

The $1,000-a-person gala, at a private L.A. residence on June 2, is expected to draw many stars, including Dane's fellow Seattle Grace docs.

"I've invited all of them, and I think if everyone's in town, they'll show up," he says.

After the ball, the couple will take a month off for a round-the-world vacation before he is called back to the Grey's set in mid-July.

"Grey's" Cast Celebrates Eric Dane's Cover

Members of the cast of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," Ellen Pompeo, Justin Chambers, Sara Ramirez and Eric Dane with wife Rebecca Gayheart gathered at NYC hot spot Tenjune last night to celebrate Dane's Men's Health Magazine May cover.

The medical soap opera is concluding its 3rd season this Thursday at 9/8c on ABC.

Actor Eric Dane who steamed up the tube this season on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" appears in the May issue of "Men's Health" Magazine. Not surprisingly, the actor made last week's Victoria's Secret "What is Sexy?" list.



The actor's wife Rebecca Gayheart will appear in the season finale of ABC's "Ugly Betty" and his best friend Balthazar Getty is one of the regulars on ABC's "Brother's and Sisters". It all stays in the (ABC) family.
