Desperate Housewives Spoilers #416-417 (2-Hour 4th Season Finale)

An excellent 4th season of ABC's "Desperate Housewives" that made the Marc Cherry series TV's most watched drama all over again is coming to a close on Sunday night with an eventful 2-hour cliffhanger episode. Will there be another gay wedding on ABC Sunday? Will Lynette go to jail? Is Edie leaving Wisteria Lane forever? Plus, shocking details about Gale Harold's character.

In the first hour, "The Gun Song" (9:00-10:00 p.m.), the ladies of Wisteria Lane meet Susan and Mike's new baby, Gaby forms a strong bond with their new tenant, Ellie, and Lynette is accused of child abuse. Will she be arrested?

In the second hour, "Free" (10:00-11:00 p.m.), several residents of Wisteria Lane are faced with deadly threats, Susan realizes she will soon lose someone she loves, and Katherine Mayfair's secrets are finally revealed.

Nathan Fillion will reprise his role as Katharine Mayfair's (Dana Delany) husband Adam. Although ABC has yet to confirm this - Gale Harold ("Queer as Folk") is expected to make his first appearance on the show in the 2nd hour.

Now, those were the official spoilers released by ABC. There have however been a number of rumors about the episode as well as season 5, some of which may not necessarily be true.

It appears the person Susan loses is Mike and the previously spoiled scene in which Gale Harold makes his first appearance comforting his wife as she watches her 5-year old son on his first day of school is a flash forward, 5 years into the future, and the woman in question is Susan!

Marcia Cross recently found it ironic that she was seated at an event next to Martha Stewart, as her character Bree goes on to build a successful career exactly along the lines of the celebrity housemaker.

There have been many other rumors - the gay couple will wed in the finale, Gabrielle will be mother to twin girls in the flash forward, Kayla will be shipped off to her grandparents, Edie's coming back in 5 years, etc. but I have not been able to confirm them.

In any event, next Sunday's episode promises to be one that changes Wisteria Lane forever. Following the season of successful rebuilding of the 4-year old series, will the bold move bring even more eyeballs to the show, or will our beloved "Housewives" crash and burn? I certainly can't wait to find out.

  2. Anonymous, I'd hate to lose Mike too but he hasn't had much storyline lately. Not sure if there's more new stuff for him in the future. Comparably, I don't want Orson go - Bree really needs an up-to-bar sidekick.

Did anyone think that Kayla performance was so good that it left me feeling eeriely! That girl is EVIL. I knew she was a bomb ticking since her mother died.

Of all the possible spoilers, I don't see Bob & Lee getting married at the end of the seaon, unless they are promised to come back in season 5.
