"House" Super Bowl Episode #411 "Frozen" (Stills & Spoilers)

FOX's Hugh Laurie fronted medical drama "House" has, thanks to the Nielsen power of its Tuesday night lead-in "American Idol" become the #1 drama on US network television, beating the recent figures of such blockbusters as "CSI" and "Grey's Anatomy." Will this post-Super Bowl episode make the show even stronger after it is exposed to an even wider audience?


That scenario certainly worked for ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" in 2006, which gained a lot of momentum in its post-"Desperate Housewives" slot in 2005, but it was only after the airing of the first part of the tense Super Bowl "bomb episode" that the show eclipsed its lead-in and grew into one of the biggest hits on network television worthy of the plum spot on Thursdays at 9.


As for the episode Super Bowl episode of "House" it is titled "Frozen" and it stars Academy Award winner Mina Sorvino is a special guest appearance. The episode will air 10:15-11:15 p.m. on the East Coast and 7:15-8:15 p.m. on the West Coast, immediately following the Super Bowl event. When Dr. Cate Milton (Mira Sorvino), a psychiatrist trapped at the South Pole and the research station's only doctor, becomes ill in the middle of her assignment, she and Dr. House are thrust into a long-distance relationship of sorts.

Unable to get Cate out or any additional medical supplies to the South Pole station, House and his team must resort to treating her via webcam. House and his team walk the doctor through a series of makeshift and painful diagnostic tests she must perform on herself.



Cate pushes back at House's every recommendation, and is unwilling to risk valuable station medical supplies until he can provide valid proof for his diagnoses each step of the way.

While House and his team helplessly watch her condition worsen, House's usually icy demeanor surprisingly softens as he searches for ways to save her life. Meanwhile, House does some detective work of his own and is surprised to learn who Wilson has been dating.
