STARpix: Ronaldo Avoids Fine Over Orgy
STARpix is back with a bang. Literally. Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo will avoid fine over his 5-prostitute orgy, despite "Manchester United" conservative American owners being allegedly "disgusted" with his behavior. Plus, Britney sets album release date, Beckham spends time with his family following the much-publicized injury and Michelle Williams enjoys single life, after splitting with "Brokeback Mountain" co-star Heath Ledger.
Cristiano Ronaldo's 5-hooker orgy with fellow team players Nani and Anderson which took place over a week ago at his mansion just outside Manchester was splashed all over British tabloids this weekend with rumors the club was about to quiz and possibly fine the soccer star over the so-called scandal. According to the latest reports he is unlikely to be fined and the prostitute who leaked the story to a downmarket tabloid was fired by her Leeds-based escort agency.
Despite her career being overshadowed by substance abuse, bizarre behavior and custody battle with her ex-husband, Britney was back in the news this weekend after her new sexy single "Gimme More" was leaked online on Thursday night generating rave reviews from critics and online community. Britney's record company Jive Records has set November 13 release date for her next as yet untitled studio album. New York's Z100 radio which premiered "Gimme More" was filled with requests to play the song.
Soccer star David Beckham who injured his knee during Wednesday night's game against CF Pachuca Superliga (which basically ended his season with LA Galaxy) said in an interview with Ryan Seacrest of KIIS FM he was very "disappointed and frustrated." The soccer star is expected to earn $250 million over five years with the club. Beckham spent the rest of the week with family, taking his son with wife Posh Spice to school, shopping, surfing and celebrating little Romeo's 5th birthday on Saturday.
Actress Michelle Williams was snapped walking, smiling and enjoying a drink with a friend in Brooklyn over the weekend. Former "Dawson's Creek" star split with actor Heath Ledger whom she met while filming "Brokeback Mountain" in 2004. The couple welcomed their daughter Mathilda in October 2005, just weeks before they began promotional work for the movie. Despite the breakup, the couple are said to be committed to being great parents to their daughter.
Finally, Carrie Underwood was in downtown Los Angeles shooting her new music video - former "American Idol" releases her sophomore album "Carnival Ride" October 23; "High School Musical" star Zac Efron was posing for photographers during the premiere of Disney's hit movie in the UK; and singer Gwen Stefani and her husband Gavin Rosdale were snapped shopping for groceries in Maui after the singer made headlines for covering up on her tour in Malaysia.
