Dana Delany Reveals "Desperate" Spoilers

51-year old former "China Beach" star Dana Delany has signed a 6-year contract for ABC's "Desperate Housewives." The actress reveals to USA Today her anal-retentive character Katherine Mayfair will clash with Susan, Bree and Lynette and may have a problem with the gay couple and their noisy sculpture that spouts water day and night.

Delany says she is grateful to series creator Marc Cherry for considering her for the role of Katherine three years after she said "no" to the role of Bree Van De Kamp as not many people in Hollywood would give you a second chance. At the time, the actress thought the role was too close to the wicked mom she played on FOX's "Pasadena."

But isn't the new character too similar to Bree? Although Bree and Katherine share many of the same qualities, Cherry explains, Katherine is the more devious, determined and ultimately stronger version of the same type of woman.



According to Delany, Katherine won't be too happy about her husband Adam - a gynecologist - inspecting her friend Susan Mayer's vagina, nosy Bree lurking around Katherine's kitchen looking for prize-winning recipes and Lynette's children's ugly orange tree house where they make a lot of noise.

Katherine who will also have a problem with the gay couple (no word yet on if she will simply be annoyed by their weird sculpture or if she is a homophobe) will try to rid Wisteria Lane of imperfections by running for the President of the Homeowners' Association and Lynette will be running against her.

As for this year's mystery - something happened on Wisteria Lane years ago and it was related to something that Adam did in Chicago. The Mayfairs may be a loving couple, but they are also partners in crime.
