"Brothers & Sisters" Season 2 Spoilers
TV Guide has published a couple of tidbits about the new season of ABC "Brothers & Sisters" shedding some light on the ambiguous Uncle Saul. ABC has meanwhile released the missing stills of actress Patricia Wettig who plays Holly; and in case you missed Dave Annable's summer interview with USA Today talking about his character Justin, it is now available on YouTube.
The last time we saw the Walkers clan, it was revealed that Uncle Saul had had a gay affair with a character played by The O.C.'s Michael Nourri.
Actor Ron Rifkin says his character is "obviously" bisexual and when addressed later in the season, his sexuality will become the cause of a lot of angst and conflict within the family.
I don't really see how his bisexuality was obvious since we had never really seen Uncle Saul in a relationship with a woman (I don't think those dinners with Holly really count), but I am certain his struggle to find himself at an older age in a family with a younger out member may generate some compelling drama.
Justin as you know returns from his tour of duty in Iraq with a severe injury to his knee that leaves him wheelchair-bound. The show will focus on his struggle to recuperate and stay off painkillers this time. His mother Nora is heartbroken when she sees her young grandson Cooper accidentally jump on Justin's injured leg.
As Julia and Tommy grow apart she actually begins to blame him for the loss of their son. Meanwhile, Tommy dedicates himself to the vineyard business, while his partner Holly becomes intoxicated with the power and the money that the new business brings her.
Finally, Danny Glover plays Nora's new flame who will be a hardcore Republican, and Kevin struggles to remain monogamous as his boyfriend Jason leaves for Malaysia.
We have already heard about the general direction of all of these storylines, but it appears to me that these may all be new bits and pieces of scoop about them, and now I do look forward to the show even more than before. It has been a long summer and I'll be happy to get back to the Walker mansion. Now check what Dave Annable had to say just days before the filming began in July.
