"Heroes World Tour" Continues
NBC Universal's global efforts to promote Tim Kring's red-hot drama "Heroes" continued on Tuesday with cast members' appearance at press conferences and fan events in Paris, New York and Tokyo.
After leaving Munich, Germany actors Hayden Panettiere, Milo Ventimiglia, Adrian Pasdar and Jack Coleman made the 2nd stop on their tour in the French capital. "Heroes" already airs on the TF1 network there.
Unlike the original version which opens with a 5-second solar eclipse and trademark soundbyte, TF1 has come up with full opening credits for the show and used the song "Le Héros d'un Autre" by singer Victoria Petrosillo as the theme.
In New York, new cast member Dania Ramirez ("Maya") joined season 1 regulars Noah Gray-Cabey, James Kyson Lee and Zachary Quinto as well as co-executive producer/writer Jeph Loeb and graphic novel artist Tim Sale (his works have been featured on the show prominently).
The cast signed Season 1 DVDs (freshly released on Tuesday) at the NBC Experience Store. The 7-disc set is loaded with bonus features, including 50 deleted scenes and the 73-minute never-aired version of the pilot episode.
Right after that, the cast joined The Conservation Fund in a ceremonial tree planting outside the store. NBC has promised to donate 10% of all merchandise sold at the store on Tuesday to the fund. Actor James Kyson Lee said "Heroes" will include "the green message" in a 2nd season storyline.
Finally, actors Greg Grunberg, Ali Larter, Masi Oka and Sendhil Ramamurthy made their first stop fn the Asian leg of the "Heroes World Tour" in Tokyo, Japan where Masi Oka got a little sumo wrestler action.
