"The Bold and the Beautiful" World's Top Soap
Ratings firm Eurodata TV Worldwide released new data at the Monte Carlo TV Festival last night branding three US shows: 'CSI,' 'Desperate Housewives' and 'The Bold and the Beautiful' world's top television programs.
"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," about a team of forensic experts in Las Vegas, drew 79.9 million viewers, beating out previous title holder, sequel show "CSI: Miami" as the most popular TV drama series.
In the TV comedy category, the all-female cast of "Desperate Housewives" attracted 70.2 million viewrs, beating "Monk" (U.S.) and "Mr Bean" (Britain).
"The Bold and The Beautiful," (show stars Lesley Anne Down and Drew Tyler Bell pictured in the post) with 24.7 million viewers, was the most popular soap, against two Colombian soaps "El Cuerpo des Deseo" and "Pasion de Gavilanes."
Joining Anne-Down on the red carpet were HRH Prince Albert of Monaco, along with "Without a Trace" star Eric Close and the brilliant Robert Knepper who plays the devilishly evil T-Bag on FOX's "Prison Break."
