News Corp. Donates $5 Mil to "Idol Gives Back"

FOX has said that charitable donations to relief programs to help children and young people in extreme poverty in America and Africa raised by the "Idol Gives Back" special now top $60 million, doubling the previously announced figure.

News Corp., the parent company of the network, has donated $5 million thanks to the 50 million votes cast (out of the total of 70 million). The 3-hour 2-night special is however estimated to have pulled in at least $45 million in advertising revenue for FOX.
