TV Ratings: ABC Dances To Victory; "Break" Hits Season Low

There was no stopping ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" last night as the reality blockbuster scored 20,16 million viewers for its 2-hour telecast, with viewership levels peaking at 9pm. The penultimate episode of FOX's "Prison Break" meanwhile hit season low with 8,01 million viewers.

The season finale of "What About Brian" wasted most of the "Dancing" lead-in audience keeping only 7,58 million viewers tuned into ABC at 10pm. Actually, the show opened with 8,72 million coming down to only 6,44 million in the second half hour. JJ Abrams would need the magic of island to keep this stinker alive.

"The Black Donnellys" over on NBC did even worse than "Brian" with 5,67 million viewers. Expect both "Donnellys" and "Studio 60" off the schedule by the end of the season.

Earlier in the evening, two episodes of NBC's "Deal or no Deal" held up pretty well against the "Dancing" ratings monster - the original episode pulled in 12,1 million viewers. Still this is much worse than what the show used to average for new episodes at 8pm before ABC's reality contest came along.

Finally, FOX's "24" grew almost 4 million viewers out of "Prison Break" and ended up with 11,83 million viewers, while a repeat of CBS's "CSI: Miami" was the top show at 10pm with 12,97 million total viewers.

  1. The one time Wednesday Nights needed Dancing the most, to boost Lost's ratings, they put it on Monday's.

  2. The Black Donnellys is quite boring, tbh. I wasn't expecting much from it. I was so bored through the first half of episode 1. I gave up on it.

  3. I agree with JJ, Lost needs a better lead in, they are wasting Dancing on Brian, which is likely going to be cancelled, why beat a dead horse?
