FOX Extends "Idol" Results Shows
Great. Just what we needed. A new season of "How Many Commercial Breaks Can Ryan Seacrest Sneak Into This Already Drawn Out Results Show?"
The FOX network has announced it will switch to one-hour "American Idol" results shows a month earlier than planned.
The results editions of the singing competition scheduled for April 11, April 18 and May 2, which were supposed to be half-hours, will now run from 9-10 pm.
The show's producers requested the change because (get this!) with the contestants' star coaches performing during recent results shows, the singers voted off had not being able to do their 2-minute farewell performance lately.
That is why those considerate folks at FOX will be adding an entire half-hour for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy.
The April 11 "Idol" result show now will be preceded by a one-hour season finale of the freshman comedy " 'Till Death."
As previously announced, Fox will air the second part of the two-night special "Idol Gives Back" on April 25.
