Although a new episode of "Grey's Anatomy" was originally supposed to air on Thursday, March 29, the network has changed that original plan and will now air the next episode "My Favorite Mistake" this week, on March 22.
There are changes in the episode itself as some of the story lines that you may see were originally conceived for the 2-hour Kate Walsh fronted spin-off episode which airs in May.
The producers were working on both episodes at the same time and at the last moment decided to include some of the material, including the title, in this episode.
That means Emmy-Award winning actor Hector Elizondo (The Princess Diaries, Chicago Hope), who was originally cast for the spin-off episode, will guest stars as Callie's father Mr. Torres this week already.
Elizabeth Reaser (Sweet Land) and Roger Rees (The Prestige) return as Jane Doe and Dr. Colin Marlow, while Michael Boatman (Spin City) and Catherine Dent (The Shield) guest star as patients.
The network changed its mind about the scheduling of this episode due to the impressive start of ABC's new post-Grey's drama "October Road" which was able to hold on to a lot more of "Grey's" audience than its predecessors "Six Degrees" and "Men In Trees".
"October Road" premiered to almost 15 million viewers last Thursday, while "Six Degrees" and "Men In Trees" averaged less than 10 million. In fact last Thursday "October Road" exceeded the ratings of ABC's Ugly Betty", which has so far this season been the network's highest rated new series, by a whopping 40%.
If "October Road" continues to be one of the network's major hits, ABC will finally have a full line-up of hit programming on Thursday nights, the most lucrative night in television advertising business.
As for this week's spoilers, George meets his new father-in-law (and is in no condition to make a good impression).
Alex helps Jane Doe determine how the world will see her from now on and the hospital board begins interviewing the candidates for the Chiefs position.
Finally, Izzie wrestles with a startling revelation. Could she actually be in love with George?

October Road was good, but I don't see it being good long term. It would have made a very good movie. I would much rather Traveler be the drama with 14 million viewers.
