Director Set For "Grey's Anatomy" Spin-Off

Michael Grossman has been tapped to direct the two-hour episode that will serve as a pilot for ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" spinoff. Entitled "My Favorite Mistake", the special will also serve as the show's 22nd and 23rd episode of the current season (out of 24).

Grossman has already directed this year's 13th episode of "Grey's Anatomy" called "Great Expectations".

The pilot will introduce an as-yet undisclosed character played by Taye Diggs as well as Mr. Torez, father of Dr. Torez (Sara Ramirez) played by Hector Elizondo.

ABC hasn't confirmed an airdate for the episode; it will however be broadcast in May prior to the one-hour third season finale.
