"Ugly Betty" #113: "In Or Out": Enter Alexis

You just know the golden days of television are back when there's a bitch on a campy prime-time Golden-Globe-winning show called Alexis.

Could this comedy shine any brighter? I seriously doubt that. And yet I bet the clever producers still find a way to top the fabulous pop-culture-inspired twists that made "In Or Out" such a unique viewing experience.

I couldn't be happier this was one of the highest rated episodes of "Ugly Betty" since the beginning of the season, for it was surely my favorite.

Former Mrs. Stamos makes a grand entrance in the concluding moments of the episode as Alex Meade (I presume we all got the Arquette family reference), Daniel's presumed-dead-in-a-ski-accident brother post-sex-change who had spent months plotting behind the scenes with evil Wilhelmina to take over Meade Publications and put Bradford behind bars.

The comedy is always filled with memorable one-liners and comebacks, but this week the writers have been exceptionally generous: from the abundant celebrity jokes (poor Tara Reid, Britney Spears and even Gisele Bundchen), through revelations about Marc's sexual position preferences (OK, we figured that one out ages ago), all the way to Betty's repetitive use of "boobs".

Entering "The Ugly Betty Hall of Fame":

Fashion correspondent Kathy Griffin (kudos for casting) on Daniel: "Rumor has it, he's in Brazil, licking his wounds — and anything else that walks by."

Justin on Betty not working at Mode anymore: "Yeah, I really miss the swag." Followed by equally crackalicious: "Maybe Oprah can adopt us?"

Marc, trying to explain to Amanda the meaning of Wilhelmina's in-and-out board: "These are the people who are staying, and these are the people who get the Jimmy Choo. The boot. Gone. Later, skater."

Marc to Wilhelmina about not wanting Betty's chair: "This bum don't slum." Wilhelmina: "That's not what I've heard." She must have been to Dudecruises.com, too.

Marc (no wonder Michael Urie got promoted to series regular): "You have to prove your loyalty to the Queen." Amanda: "You?"

And you may have missed this one, but there was a headline on the cover of the tabloid Amanda was holding that read: "Man Brutally Attacked By Pigeons In Central Park". How cliche. How campy. How Betty.

The episode has also given us a heart-wrenching scene following Hilda's failure to successfully launch a cupcake business, who despite her never-ending love for her son Justin, plays with the thought what her life might have been like had it not been for him.

And Betty's and Daniel's relationship goes to the next level as she gives him a helping hand at the times of despair and they sing their hearts out in the most adorable karaoke rendition of "I Got You Babe".

Has Christina really crossed over to the dark side? How fabulous and over-the-top will be Alexis' return to Mode? And when, oh when, will Betty and Henry finally hook up?
