HAS FOX CANCELLED
"HAPPY HOUR" AND "JUSTICE"?
"HAPPY HOUR" AND "JUSTICE"?
Everybody is afraid of the C word, which is why they prefer the H word. FOX has officially put their freshman comedy "Happy Hour", which was blasted by TV critics all summer long as the worst crap on television, on hiatus.
The cancellation axe has not swung, but Bravo.com's users participating in the Death Watch '06 online game have decided weeks ago that the sitcom is the top contender to be the first victim of ruthless network executives. Now the website has given up on calculating odds for its survival simply tagging the comedy R.I.P.
Also in the danger zone is FOX's drama "Justice", #8 on the Bravo list. Although FOX normally pre-empts its shows during the baseball playoffs, "Justice" will be leaving the airwaves a week early (a repeat of "House" will air next week). "Happy Hour" was not that lucky. The sitcom is off the schedule effective immediately and this week's episode will be replaced by a repeat of "Till Death".
FOX insists both shows will be back for November sweeps. It is not clear for how long.
