'Hancock' Premiere Photos, Promos & Trailer

Will Smith's flawed superhero "Hancock" will be touching down as early as tonight at 7pm in many of the 3965 theaters that are booked to run the blockbuster through Independence Day weekend. Check out red carpet images of its stars Will Smith, Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman at last night's Hollywood premiere, along with a new trailer, trivia, promos from the movie and what critics are saying.

The PG-13 rated comedy from director Peter Berg ("Friday Night Lights") has been in the making for over a decade (the original script was written in 1996).

The $150 million movie which began filming exactly a year ago was originally titled "Tonight, He Comes."

Smith portrays an an incredibly sarcastic and alcoholic superhero despised by the public, who possesses superhuman strength and is capable of supersonic flight.

Justin Bateman's charcater, a PR exec named Ray, helps him rehabilitate himself after Hancock saves his life.

Hancock however soon develops feelings for Ray's wife, played by the beautiful Charlize Theron.

Early reviews are not very good, as Variety believes "the movie's high-end concept is undermined by low-grade dramaturgy" and Hollywood Reporter claims "the movie's elaborate backstory makes no sense."

The studio is hoping the negative reviews will soon be balanced out, and the pic will go on to earn as much as $100 million over the next 5 and a half days.
