Teri Hatcher Opens Dr. Seuss' "Grinch"

"Desperate Housewife" Teri Hatcher and daughter Emerson Rose made an appearance at the opening night of Dr. Seuss' "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" on Friday at St. James Theatre in New York, before the play shut down on Saturday as Broadway went dark due to stagehands strike.

Popular plays like "Grinch," "Wicked," Cyrano de Bergerac," and many, many other will remain dark until further notice. Only 8 shows will resume performances on Tuesday. All off-Broadway shows are open for business.

On Friday night, Teri Hatcher - who was introduced by the play producer James Sanna - read the audience into the show with a few pages from the original text. Dressed in a low-cut vibrant red dress TV's "Susan Mayer" began on a personal note saying "Emerson, this is for you."
