TV Ratings: "Bionic Woman" Fading Fast

Following the news of yet another backstage shuffle at NBC's "Bionic Woman" it appears it may be too little too late. The sci-fi drama dipped to a new series low of only 7.78 million viewers last night. One month ago the show premiered to 13.59 million viewers. The drama has now lost 43% of its debut audience.

ABC's line-up was slightly down as opposed to last week's figures, but some of the viewers may have flipped over to baseball on FOX which won the night with 16.87 million sets of eyeballs. FOX normally averages about 7 million viewers on the night. For this reason ABC did respectable business last night.

"Private Practice" continues to beat "Criminal Minds" in the 18-49 demo. The Kate Walsh-fronted drama posted 4.5 vs. Criminal Minds' 3.9

The premiere of NBC's new game show "Phenomenon" ended up being the highest rated show for the network with the rest of the line-up in decline.

The CW's "Gossip Girl" added 130,000 viewers rising to 2.55 million this week. The show however still loses almost half of its lead-in audience.

ABC:
Pushing Daisies (9.45 million)
Private Practice (11.77 million)
Dirty Sexy Money (8.56 million)

CBS:
Kid Nation (8.03 million)
Criminal Minds (14.93 million)
CSI: NY (13.64 million)

NBC:
Phenomenon (8.35 million)
The Bionic Woman (7.78 million)
Life (6.85 million)

FOX:
Baseball (16.87 million)

The CW:
America's Next Top Model (4.72 million)
Gossip Girl (2.55 million)

I've heard mixed opinions on how well PD did last night. Whats your take Justin? And do you know the half hour breakdown?

I blame the lack of campiness the original had. If they brought in fembots in the pilot or even in the 2nd episode, at least it would have been a great homage to the original series. There's been no homage to the original series, whatsoever, and so you lost a huge chunk of demo who grew up watching the original Bionic Woman on television.

Yes, it went up from 9.44 to 9.48, and the demo rating also went up from 3.0 to 3.1.

I must however admit I'm not too happy with PD's demo rating. There was a significant drop as opposed to last week.

This week's PD was not as great as the previous three unfortunately. Next episode should be better since it's pretty much an Olive-centric episode, and from reading the sides, it's quite funny.

So, I can't wait!

Im hoping the drop was that most young people flipped over to watch The World Series. Lets hope we get a rebound in the coming weeks.
