Zac Efron Promotes "Hairspray" in Italy

"High School Musical" cutie Zac Efron was promoting his movie "Hairspray" in Italy on the weekend. The young actor who will be 20 in October has vowed to stand by his girlfriend and co-star Vanessa Hudgens who is keeping a low profile after canceling a Tonight Show appearance.

Although the publication of a nude photo of Hudgens on the Internet caused a scandal in the United States (more racy images may be on the way), some industry experts believe the brouhaha may actually accelerate the starlet's rise to stardom.

Meanwhile, Efron's movie "Hairspray" which has yet to open in several markets has already earned $150 million worldwide. The actor is about to star in a new comedy titled "17" about a grown man who wakes up one morning as a 17-year old boy and has to relieve high school.
