"How I Met Your Mother" Threesome?

You may have heard CBS will be getting a little naughty and tapping into the group sex territory with its midseason period drama "Swingtown" set in the 1970s and scheduled to premiere in early 2008 (starring "Pirates of the Carribean's" Jack Davenport and "Melrose Place's" Grant Show). Now, as TV Guide reports, the Eye network may try to shed its conservative image with a possibly steamy October episode of "How I Met Your Mother."



The sitcom which begins its third season on Monday, September 24 has already generated headlines this summer with the stunt casting of Grammy Award-winning singer Enrique Iglesias as well as the squeaky clean US pop star/actress Mandy Moore.



Now, the producers have added ER's hot babe Busy Philipps (formerly of "Freaks and Geeks") in a racy plotline that may end with Busy hitting the sheets with the show's principal star Josh Radnor (Ted) and his hit-and-run fling, Trudy (Danica McKellar, "The Wonder Years").



Although Trudy returns in the October 15 episode bringing her sexy back, she will have to battle her college arch-rival (played by Philipps) who has also set her sights on the newly single Ted.

According to the magazine, the showdown may go either the way of a nail-scratching catfight or a body-entangling threesome. Lovers of mud-wrestling and wet T-shirt contests should be satisfied either way.

Perhaps even the "Monday Night Football" crowd clicks over to this one.
