Ian Somerhalder Is "Marco Polo" (Updated)
(April 6, 2007) Is Boone gay or not? A question some of the fans of ABC's "LOST" will be asking anticipating the next flashback appearance of former model Ian Somerhalder on the award-winning series. Meanwhile, you can see the actor in his new mini-series...
..."Marco Polo" about the famous Venetian trader and explorer, one of the first Westerners to travel the Silk Road to China (Cathay) and visit the Great Khan of the Mongol Empire, Kublai Khan (grandson of Genghis Khan).
The 4-hour mini-series has already premiered in Spain and Germany and it will air on The Hallmark Channel in the US on Saturday, June 2. Here are some of the promotional stills from the series.
The event mini-series genre which used to be very popular in the 70s and the 80s is almost extinct in America today, but may according to some industry observers make a comeback.
UPDATE (June 1): We now know Boone was not gay, as the actor himself confirms in an interview with TV Guide Online today.
Somerhalder says taping of the Nikki and Paulo-centric episode in which his character re-appeared was like a great 10-day vacation, but he has yet to see the episode.
