The One With "Idol" McHotties

It is no secret that the male contestants on the 6th season of FOX's "American Idol" leave a lot to desire. That is why it is great that two of those who are the easiest on the eyes also seem to be quite talented in the singing department.

For this reason my superficial self will be keeping his fingers crossed for Blake Lewis and Chris Richardson as "American Idol" announces its top-12 finalists on tonight's results show.

I'd do the same for Melinda and Lakisha, but they don't really need my support, do they now? Here are a few images of my favorite Idol contestants this year as we countdown to the hour of truth. Good luck, guys.

UPDATE: Phew! The guys did make the cut, as did Melinda and Lakisha (of course they did!), but Antonella Barba (finally!), Sabrina Sloan (America, you got that one wrong); Jared Cotter and Jason "Sundance" Head (what!? over Sanjaja? it must have been the hair) weren't that lucky.

That means: Blake Lewis, LaKisha Jones, Chris Sligh, Jordin Sparks, Phil Stacey, Melinda Doolittle, Brandon Rogers, Gina Glocksen, Chris Richardson, Stephanie Edwards, Haley Scarnato and Sanjaya Malakar made it to the top-12.
