Jesse Metcalfe Pulls a Britney

Now when did this happen? I thought we were supposed to get months of B-listed celebrity spirals out of control style of coverage complete with sex tapes, allegations of cocaine abuse and bizarre visits to hair salons, before a publicist...

...puts out the following statement (including the actor's modest career achievements):

"On Monday, March 19, Jesse Metcalfe entered a rehab facility to deal with alcohol issues. He realized he had a problem and was anxious to deal with it immediately. The actor, best known as the hunky gardener on the ABC show 'Desperate Housewives' and the star of the film 'John Tucker Must Die,' hopes that the media will allow him the privacy to deal properly with his treatment."

The decision was allegedly made the day before Page Six ran a story on Metcalfe's weekend-long drunken binge at the Skybar at the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood, where eyewitnesses claim Metcalfe appeared as he had not slept in days and acted hostile and violent towards the staff.

Swinging coast to coast can sure mess up one's mind.
