As you know already daytime hottie Eric Winter is joining ABC's family drama "Brothers & Sisters" as Rob Lowe's gay brother Todd McCallister, a new love interest for Kevin Walker. What you may not know is that Eric may be staying for only two episodes.
TV Guide's Michael Ausiello reports in his weekly column today that whether or not Eric Winter remains a part of the show depends on the fate of the actor's new pilot project "Viva Laughlin" over at CBS.
The Eye network describes the pilot as a musical about a family man who dreams of opening a casino in Laughlin, Nev. The drama is based on BBC's "Viva Blackpool!" and CBS will make a decision whether or not it gets picked up for fall by May.
In the meantime, it seems original plans to make Senator McCallister's brother Todd a very significant man in Kevin Walker's (Matthew Rhys) life may change if Eric Winter is no longer available to shoot "Brothers & Sisters".
This is TELEVISIONISTA
I know, weird, eh?
ReplyDeleteDid you get my email about this, Justin? I sent it to you last night.
Anyway, I can't believe all this hype and hoopla and Todd may end up being a short arc after all. What utter disappointment. :(
At least this looks good for Scotty being back in the picture again. :)

Proves my point though, that Kevin is a man whore LOL
ReplyDeleteBecause ya know gay relationships only last a maximum of 2 episodes at most! Jason Lewis has lasted more, that is an anomaly! LOL
I am extremely disappointed with this development.
ReplyDeleteYes, Eric Winter is a very attractive man and he and Kevin would make a great couple, but if they knew the actor was not necessarily available, why cast him in the first place?
Greg Berlanti says the character of Kevin has not matured enough to be in a serious LTR and he would continue to explore dating as a single man, so I'm afraid Roland more screwing around is on the way. :)
Not that that is a bad thing, but it would certainly be more refreshing to see a somewhat more complex gay character on TV.
One thing is for sure, Kev sure seems to be getting more action than poor Matt on "Melrose Place" or Will on "Will & Grace"... LOL...
Four guys in a single season (I'm not forgetting anyone, am I?), now that's a broadcast TV record... LOL
I did get your email, KC. Thanks!. In fact I had seen the story on Ausiello just before I opened that message, so kudos to you on your prompt alerts. I promise to improve as far as my replies go... LOL... Sorry...
ReplyDeleteI'm working on creating more free time to work on the blog as of April, so hopefully that works out for both the updates and my email correspondence... :)
But do keep those emails coming, and thanks a lot for B&S scripts, too. :) I hope to use that information in upcoming posts.
Yeah, Kevin will have had 4 guys this season...not sure if he will sleep with Todd, but he's already slept with Scotty, the army dude, and Chad.
ReplyDeleteBut 2 episodes is really making a lot us go...huh? I don't know why they went with an actor that is tied to a pilot and not someone who is free who can do more episodes. So weird.
And thanks for telling me you got my emails. :) I wasn't sure you've been reading them. :(
Episode 20 sides are out and it's only 1 page and for a waiter...nothing really interesting except that Mark August & Nora are out on a date (if you don't know this by now, you're way behind...I mean anyone who is reading this spoiler).

Justin,
ReplyDeleteUpdate news...sorta
Todd McCallister is probably now known as Jason McCallister. Eric Winter did an interview and you can read it here at http://daytimedial.blogspot.com/2007/03/eric-winter-cast-on-brothers-and.html
We will have to see if this new name is the one they're going with.
Just giving you a heads up.
