Brooke Shields Films NBC's "Lipstick Jungle"

The woman who told the almighty Tom Cruise off after he made offensive remarks about her career choices and treatment of depression, had her hands full on the set of her new NBC pilot "Lipstick Jungle" last week.

Now that the pilot season casting has mostly been concluded, the studios have begun filming almost 100 pilot projects, less than one third of which may end up on broadcast networks' fall schedules.

The schedules are announced at "The Upfronts", an industry week-long event held for advertisers in New York City, in May.


After the networks present the new schedules and faces of the new season, as well as announce which veteran shows are returning and which will be canceled, they try to sell as much of the advertising inventory as possible and at as high of a price as possible.

"Lipstick Jungle" is just one of 8 drama pilots NBC is developing for the next season. If picked up, the network will order standard 13 episodes and may extend that with a "back 9 order" if the show is successful in the ratings.

The pilot is based upon Candace Bushnell's best selling novel about a trio of power-hungry, rich professional women willing do anything in their power to maintain their status in New York. Lucy Liu also stars.
