Will LOST's Nikki Get Killed Off, Too?
Not that any of the LOST fans seem to care, but Kiele Sanchez who is, along with Rodrigo Santoro's Paulo, supposed to emerge later this season as an "iconic character" on the show (or that is at least what the producers are hoping will happen) may be getting off the island sooner than we had thought.
The actress was just cast in the ABC pilot "Football Wives", an adaptation of a British primetime soap opera playing the pregnant wife of a rising football star, a good-natured woman with a secret.
The gig is in "second position", but the casting news may indicate that Nikki is headed off the show in the near future.
Last month Rodrigo Santoro revealed to the Brazilian edition of Billboard magazine that his character Paulo would get killed off later this season and he would no longer be a part of the show.
The news came as a surprise since both characters had only recently been introduced getting very little screen time thus far.
As for the ABC pilot (the original title was "Footballers' Wives"), Sanchez joins Gabrielle Union and Lucy Lawless (Xena) who was cast earlier this week as one of the women who "believes she is much more sophisticated than she really is".
The pilot is directed by the "Superman Returns" director and "House" TV producer Bryan Singer.
