"American Idol" may have failed to break the 30 million mark last night for its 2-hour event, but the first live performance show of the season was the most watched program in America making FOX the top network across all key demos.
The show which attracted as many as 31,32 million viewers at 9pm, averaged 29,44 million viewers across its 8-10pm telecast.
Of all the shows that battled "Idol" last night, "NCIS" on CBS at 8pm scored 15,35 million viewers, while its lead-out "The Unit" pulled in 11,56 million at 9pm.
Then at 10pm, "Law & Order: SVU" was the most watched program with 11,94 million viewers, losing a million over the previous week.
Very bad news for fans of "Veronica Mars" on The CW - the drama slipped to a new season low with only 2,34 million viewers.
I smell the axe.

What about Boston Legal? How did that do?
ReplyDelete"Boston Legal" scored 9,39 million viewers, JJ, which could have been better, but ithe show did double the numbers of its lead-in ("Primetime"), so there is hope it might return next year.
