AMERICA'S TOP-5 SHOWS

An all-new Season Ranking Report was released today highlighting the top-99 programs on American network television season-to-date (Wednesday, October 11, 2006) and the findings are clear: although ABC's red-hot medical drama and CBS's hit procedural are fighting neck-to-neck in TV's most lucrative battlefield - Thursdays at 9/8c, the clear winner is ABC's Grey's Anatomy as the new most watched program in America.

Not many suspected that the show, which premiered in late March 2005 following a "Desperate Housewives" episode with decent but not that spectacular ratings, would grow into a monster hit for the network, finally giving ABC, after almost 6 years, a strong performer on Thursday nights.

The top-5 most-watched programs in America this season are:

1. Grey's Anatomy (ABC, 24,16 million viewers)

2. CSI (CBS, 22,930 mil)

3. Desperate Housewives (ABC, 22,280 mil)

4. Dancing with the Stars (ABC, 18,26 mil)

5. CSI: Miami (CBS, 17,99 mil)
